The Holy Spirit Knows the Thoughts of God

[11] “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” – 1 Corinthians 2:11 (NKJV)

There was a time in the Old Testament when King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream. He usually told his wise men about his previous dreams so they could interpret them for him. But this one, he decided not to. He said that if the wise men cannot tell him the dream he had and interpret it, they are liars, so he’ll kill all of them. That became a whole new problem in Babylon because innocent lives were at stake. That was when Daniel stepped up, went to pray to God (with Shadrach, Mesach and Abednego), and got the dream and its interpretation for the king (see Daniel 2). What am I saying here? Humans cannot read other humans’ thoughts. Only God can.

Today, I want to tell you that the Holy Spirit knows the thoughts of God. And since God is omnipotent, He knows what is in every man’s mind. That is why He could reveal Nebuchadnezzar’s dream to Daniel with complete precision. If God can read people’s thoughts, how much more your thoughts? He knows everything concerning your life, both your present and your future. Unfortunately, He doesn’t share everything He knows right there on the spot. Therefore, He prefers that people trust Him with the process.

Is there something you are eagerly waiting for God to do? He may have delayed reaching such a need on your own terms. But He is never late. He is always right on time. His thoughts for you are for good and will never be evil. Trust Him, and most importantly, fellowship with Him so you can discern His next steps in your life.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for having a good plan for me. I know that with You on my side, I will never be put to shame. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
