You Must Believe in Jesus’ Resurrection

[9] “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9 (NKJV)

Romans 10:9 is one of the most important scriptures that clearly explains how a person can receive God’s gift of salvation through faith. It’s all about confessing Jesus as Lord and personal Saviour and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Over time, more emphasis has been placed on confessing Jesus than on believing in His resurrection, which shouldn’t be so.

Actually, according to Romans 10:9, it is an obligation for every single human being to believe in Jesus’ resurrection before the person can be saved. Anybody who confesses Jesus as Lord and personal saviour without first believing that God raised Him from the dead is not saved. Why? Because in that verse, the word “and” in “… and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead” means that Jesus’ resurrection plays a key role in the faith of the believer.

Dear preacher, when you go out there to preach the message of salvation for people to be saved, don’t neglect to highlight the importance of believing in the resurrection of Jesus for the unbelievers in your audience. It is crucial and serves as the bedrock of the faith in Christ (see 1 Corinthians 15:17).

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for raising Jesus from the dead for my justification. I know that my debt of sin has been fully paid for. Amen!
