[22] “He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ [23] His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’” – Matthew 25:22-23 (NKJV)

Did you know that God is particular about business? He expects people to use whatever He gives them to work for maximum profitability. You may have read about the parable of the talents Jesus spoke about, where a master gave talents of different sizes to three servants to use to work. Two of them fully utilised what was given to them, thereby gaining a hundred percent profit on theirs. Guess what the master said to each of them? “…Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”

See that! The master was exceptionally pleased with what they did. But to the third servant who hid his talent in the ground, he said, “… You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.” – Matthew 25:26-27 (NKJV). Obviously, the master was furious with the third servant. In fact, from the beginning, he knew he wasn’t trustworthy. That’s why he gave him (the third servant) only one talent.

God knows everyone uniquely. He doesn’t entrust more to people who won’t manage it well. So, if you can be determined to use your divine gift to work diligently, you’ll naturally flourish in that gift and impact many. Don’t be a lazy fellow and think all your big dreams will come to pass at the speed of light. No! Things don’t work like that. Be an effective worker, dear one.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for every gift You have blessed my life with. Help me to utilise each one well for Your glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
