Wisdom Will Save You from the Ways of Wicked Men

[12] “Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, [13] who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, [14] who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, [15] whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.” – Proverbs 2:12-15 (NIV)

Do you know that there are wicked men on the face of this Earth? Sometimes, it is hard to believe this, especially for believers in Christ whose lives are surrounded by so many good people that they think everyone is the same. Friend, church is different from the world. There are people purposely thinking of evil ways to harm you, which you are utterly ignorant of. Some of these people can be in your workplace, at mass event gatherings (Christian events inclusive) and even amongst family members.

Don’t think that just because you are a Christian means everybody likes you. There are some pretenders in your life who make it a point to gossip about a private conversation you had with them to others just to tarnish your image. And I must say that some pastors form part of this category of people.

The Bible says wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men. Then, the Preacher continues to describe the traits of such people as: having perverse words, leaving straight paths to walk in dark ways, delighting in doing wrong and rejoicing in the perverseness of evil. God knows that human beings are not given the ability to see the motives behind the actions of others. That is why He gives wisdom to those who ask Him so that they can use it to discern wrong paths that may present themselves as a clean path. God loves you so much to see you go wayward. Ask Him for wisdom to live well.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your wisdom in my life. Increase my ability to discern things well by the Spirit. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
