Will You Allow God To Run Checks On Your Life?

[2] “Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; [3] for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.” — Psalms 26:2 - 3 NIV

When was the last time you told God to test your heart? Maybe, you’ve been praying daily to God for things but never for His transformative work in your heart and mind to get to a higher level.

David, the only person God said expressively, He is a man after my heart,” didn’t live an awkward life. He was very disciplined in speech and association. In Psalm 26, he enlisted so many great things he had used his life to do to honour God, such as relying on God’s faithfulness (Psalm 26:3), not sitting with the deceitful (Psalm 26:4) and abhorring the assembly of evildoers (Psalm 26:5). Nowadays, many of we Christians don’t do some of these things David did; and yet, we want to do great exploits in the kingdom.

Aside from all these things David did, he still prayed for God to examine his heart and mind. But why? So that if there’s any wicked thing in him, God will clear it from his life. I can see that David didn’t want just discipline. He pursued excellence too.

Dear Christian reader, will you allow God to run checks on your life? If you compare your life to that of Jesus, can you see there’s still work to do? Maybe you don’t take care of yourself well, or your friends lists are questionable. You probably have infirmities.

Jesus desires you to be perfect as the Father is (Matthew 5:48). However, to make that possible, your life must undergo spiritual transformation until you attain the measure of Christ in all things. In all your ways, submit to God.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, I pray in the name of Jesus, check my life, see if there is any wicked way in my heart and remove it. That in all things, Your name will become glorified. Amen!
