We Are Fellow Workers in God’s Service

[9] “For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.” – 1 Corinthians 3:9 (NIV)

Have you collaborated with others to work on a project before? If yes, then I suppose you know that if each team member does their part of the work effectively, the burden will be shared and, therefore, become lighter. Good! Now, the Bible says as believers, we are fellow workers in God’s service. Have you thought about it?

The body of Christ consists of many parts, and each believer has a place in it. Since the Church is a whole body, and no human body can work without the collaborative efforts of others, what every believer does each day is very important in moving the Church forward. Maybe your part of the work is ministering to people on the crusade grounds. Another believer’s work may be discipling the souls won by producing and distributing resources to them. You see, none of them is any less important.

It becomes problematic when some people in the body of Christ refuse to do the work of the ministry, leaving it to those who are more effective. Such behaviour not only drains the other co-labourers in the Lord’s vineyard but also generates no heavenly reward for those who neglect their work. Dear one, know that God did not save you to come and sit in the church doing nothing. You are a part of God’s workforce. The Bible says you are His workmanship (see Ephesians 2:10). Refuse to be lazy in ministry!

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making me Your workmanship. Empower me to do Your work with zeal every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
