[6] “Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.” – Psalms 112:6 (NIV)
I once went to church, and a man of God was preaching. He said that during his driving to church, he overheard someone saying that it has been proven that a person will be totally forgotten in the space of 400 years after the death of that person. As the man of God resisted that speech in his spirit, I went further to probe this from scripture. Lo and behold, I found it written in Psalm 112:6 that the righteous will be remembered forever. Do you know what that means?
As the righteousness of God in Christ, once you live fulfilling God’s purpose, it shall not be said of you that you just existed on the face of this Earth. No! If Christ tarries in heaven, your name shall be mentioned for ages, even after your physical death. Monuments shall be arisen in your name, all to remember the wondrous works God did through you to establish His purposes on this Earth.
Don’t subscribe to a shallow life and think about living only for yourself and your nuclear family. That realm of life is too limiting and has cost several people, especially men, a low impact on their generation. Rise up and be a faithful and diligent servant of the Lord in whatever He has called you to do.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, empower me never to settle for less in life. I pray that You’ll satisfy me with the fatness of the land, large enough to be a blessing to many lives. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
