By[11] “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” – Isaiah 58:11 (NIV)
Everybody has needs. Right? No matter how wealthy a person is, there’s still a craving for more in the person. Why do people who have built houses and have billions of dollars in their bank accounts still work? It’s because the world is programmed in such a way that there’ll always be something to do. I’ve personally heard many people say, “It’s raining, but the ground is still hard.” Why? Because such people find it hard to earn money. Hmm!
But in Isaiah 58:11, the prophet Isaiah prophesied many great things that will happen in every believer’s life, especially for those who know it and live according to God’s ways. One is that the Lord will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land. Do you know a sun-scorched land? It’s like a desert – full of drought and struggles. So God is saying that even though times are hard, for His children in this world, He will keep meeting their needs. Isn’t that a great truth to behold? Yes, it is.
Are you tired of labouring so much without seeing your needs met? I advise you to come to Jesus. Yes, the main reason for coming to Jesus is for your salvation. But He also provides divine direction to His people too. He can tell you what to do with your life, and that will be the end of your struggles. It is better to seek God’s direction in your life than to depend so much on your daily struggles for survival.
