Remove the Ties That Bound You in Darkness

[44] And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.” – John 11:43-44 (NKJV)

When Lazarus came forth back to life after Jesus released that spiritual command, he didn’t come out with his ties all loosed in the tomb. No! The ties were all around Him. I can imagine how hard he struggled to walk out of the tomb. But anyway, he did. That tells us that when the Word of God is released, it goes to work all by itself. God’s Word is powerful; it can command a dead thing, situation or person to come back to life with energy strong enough to walk.

However, after Lazarus had come out, Jesus told the people present to remove the ties (grave clothes) that bound him so he could get loose and walk comfortably. Here’s a profound truth. You can experience your miracle while still possessing some things you don’t need, and that is not a problem. But a new miracle comes with a new mindset to embrace and sustain it. It is not enough to receive what you prayed for; you must adjust your life and mindset to keep that miracle.

For Lazarus, Jesus told others to loose Him. But for you, it may be about changing your work schedule, business structure, mindset, or faith level in God to embrace that miracle. Living in the light of God’s miracles has more to do with adopting a renewed mindset about God’s ways. Sometimes, God will do extraordinary things in your life that can destroy your theology about Him, and when that happens, upgrade your mindset. Always live with a victorious mindset in Christ, and be ready for change.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to love You deeper each day. May I be quick to renew my mind on any new thing You do so I can sustain the miracles You do in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
