[8] “But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. [9] But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?” – Galatians 4:8-9 (NKJV)
There were many churches where Paul wrote disciplinary words to them because of bad reports he received about how they were doing. One was the Galatian church, although many people considered the Corinthian church the most indisciplined church then. In Paul’s epistles to the Galatian church, he questioned whether or not those believers turning away from God were bewitched (see Galatians 3:1)? He knew things weren’t going well. But what about this modern generation of Christianity? If Paul was alive and probably still writing epistles, what would he have written about us? Hmm.
There are many people filling churches today who are still doing very evil things in secret, thinking God hasn’t seen them. Today, it is even hard to rely on some believers for things to be done well, all because of the bad name several defaulters of godly living have preached to the world. Will you be a difference maker in this generation even though your peers and some fellow believers may not follow your path? Come on, rise and be the change. Never turn back from following Christ to go to the world.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, empower me to stand firm in the faith. Help me not to turn back from following You all the days of my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
