[7] “Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.” – 1 Corinthians 7:17 NIV
When the gospel spread in the early church days, some people were saved from diverse backgrounds. Some were slaves; others were bosses of slaves. Even today, there are people with diverse backgrounds and social statuses in churches, which is good.
However, some people find it more challenging to maintain the standards of scripture in their lives because of who they are in society. One of such people is the rich. In many cases, some rich people associate themselves with people and corporations that aren’t believers for business purposes, which sometimes has an adverse effect on their faith. But your case is different.
Live as a believer no matter your situation. You may be an employee in a toxic workplace where sin is seen as normal. But can you maintain the integrity of Christ even in that place? Nobody may recognise it when you do something wrong there. But remember that God is watching you. The standard is Jesus, not any man. So live clean before the Lord.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your grace in my life. Help me love You well and live to please You well everywhere I go. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
