Intentionally Give Yourself Wholly to God

[1] “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” – Romans 12:1 (NKJV)

Do you know there’s a level of godly impact in Christ you can never reach without offering your whole self as a living sacrifice to God for kingdom service? Yes, that is the truth. In fact, many ministries with too many lay ministers on staff usually don’t grow exponentially. Why? Many such people give only a few hours of their time to God on weekdays and probably on weekends. Yes, that’s the truth. Much of the reason we are getting access to the level of depth in revelation in the books of scripture comes from the conscious sacrifice those men of God made.

Think about Paul. If he had deserted the gospel or chose not to write while in prison, would we have the twenty-one epistles in the New Testament? Of course not. So, when he wrote that the believers in Rome (now to all of us in Christ) should beseech (meaning to urgently and fervently do something), by the mercies of God, to present their bodies as a living sacrifice to God and kingdom service, he knew what he meant. In those times, the persecution was harsher than today. People were burnt alive because of their faith in Jesus. Yet, the gospel was still being preached.

Come on! The atrocities you are facing in your life are not enough to prevent you from serving the Lord. If you are a lay minister, you can still adjust your life to serve God faithfully without repercussions on your professional life. You may not have the opportunity to put in as many hours as you want, but it’s better to do something than to do nothing. Intentionally give yourself wholly to God for effective kingdom service. But don’t neglect taking good care of your health as you do that.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for saving me. Help me to serve You faithfully in Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
