“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” — Proverbs 9:9 NKJV
As long as this earth endures, learning new things will always continue. Each day is an opportunity for anybody to increase in learning in whichever field of life, be it spiritual, social, or academic-wise. Learning is significant, although not all people treat it that way.
Proverbs 9:9 speaks about how wise people become wiser, and just people increase in learning. The wise become wiser as he continues to listen to wise teachings and keep them at heart, while the just (righteous and lawful) person increases in learning as he gets taught the Truth of God’s Word.
What’s written in Proverbs 9:9 confirms what Jesus said in Matthew 13:12 (NKJV),
For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
If you’re observant in life, you’ll realize that the people who like studying strive to do better in their exams, while the lazy people always find excuses to learn. On which side are you?
If you’re a Christian, you must choose to be in the category of those who like studying rather than becoming lazy. You can do so by mingling with scholarly people because they’ll influence you to learn.
Check your association. Do not neglect to receive new teachings from God’s Word each day just because you can’t meditate on what you receive from previous ministrations. God knows why He has made the reception of His Word much easier these days because of technology. Take advantage of these advancements and understand how to use the resources well.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me deal with laziness. Increase my learning by giving me a diligent and wise association to walk with. Amen!
