[7] “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,” – 1 Corinthians 2:7 (NKJV)
Paul’s writings were regarded by Apostle Peter as one of the most complicated epistles (see 2 Peter 3:15-16). But why did Peter say that? Well, it’s because he knew that the world had not yet seen or known in those writings, which carry a high level of divine wisdom. But today, with the increase in knowledge (both good and evil), revelations from the Pauline epistles are now much easier to understand. However, God isn’t only interested in making people understand His Word. There is a glory that comes when a believer walks in understanding and obeys the Word of God.
In 1 Corinthians 2:7, the Bible makes us understand that God’s wisdom had been ordained for our glory. That wisdom was not revealed to the rulers of this evil world, even way back in the time of Jesus’ ministry on Earth. If they had known that killing Jesus would bring many sons unto God’s glory, they wouldn’t have crucified Him. In the same way, if you are walking in God’s wisdom and certain worldly people are maltreating you, don’t see it as your fault. In fact, it is their fault. If a company lays you off, a competent believer in Christ, for nothing serious (maybe company restructuring), you may immediately feel that you’ve lost. But I tell you, they have lost more because you cannot help them anymore.
Don’t think walking with God makes you disadvantaged despite your afflictions. It is not so and will never be so. His wisdom will glorify you on the path of life as you follow Him. He has never failed anyone, and you are not the first on that line to break His record.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to walk in Your wisdom every day. I acknowledge Your power at work in me to do mighty things. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
