[29] “The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.” – Proverbs 15:29 (NKJV)
Did you know that God hears the prayer of the righteous? Or maybe you’ve grown to be informed of this cliche that God hears prayers. Therefore, all you have to do is just present your requests to Him. Is that true? Yes, God hears prayers. But His answer to each of them varies. For example, in James 4:2-3(NKJV), the Bible says,
[2] “You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. [3] When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”
From this, it’s evident that people have desires. But some don’t get what they want, even after praying about it, because they ask with the wrong motives. So, God hears prayers, but He doesn’t answer all the prayers in the way people request.
Therefore, when the Bible says in Proverbs 15:29 that God hears the prayer of the righteous, it means that God listens to the born-again who have pure intentions for what they are asking God for. Are you saved? If not, accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour today. And if you are saved, prioritise your spiritual growth so as to cultivate a healthy mindset in the Lord, especially when you pray.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to have a healthy mind concerning everything I pray about. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
