[1] “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” – Romans 1:16 (KJV)
Have you ever seen a parent make a child ashamed for what he or she has done? What does the child usually do? Crying. Right? In the same way, nobody is ever happy when being confronted about something one is ashamed of. Do you know why? Because it’s humiliating. Unfortunately, many Christians are ashamed of the gospel instead of being joyful about it, and there is a reason for such a happening.
You see, we live in a perverse generation where Christians are being attacked and persecuted each day for standing firm for Christ. In fact, in several secular workplaces today, it’s hard to live with Christian integrity because several of the employees are doing evil things to steal money and take advantage of the errors in the work system instead of helping the organisation become better and stronger.
Child of God, let me encourage you this evening. Do not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes, including you and me. If the Gospel has helped you and changed your life for good, then don’t be afraid to stand for and defend it. But live wisely in this perverse generation.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the gospel in my life. Help me to stand for Christ wherever I go. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
