Do Not Allow Any Hint of Impurity Over Your Life

[3] “But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.” – Ephesians 5:3 NIV

When the various books of the Bible were written, the world wasn’t as advanced as today. There was nothing called the internet, mobile phones or any advanced technology. So, there are many evils in this generation that don’t have specific scriptures condemning such acts. Because of this, several people argue about whether they are sinful or not. One of them is pornography, and another is sports betting.

Both are wrong, although you’ll not see those two sins specifically called out in the Bible. But God, who knows the end from the beginning, decided to sum up all the wrong things that have evolved, and more will keep evolving in this wicked world under one word in Ephesians 5:3. That word is “impurity.”

The Bible says as believers, we must not allow any hint of impurity to dwell in our lives. So yes, what you may be doing may not be called “wrong” in scripture. But as long as it is impure before God, desist from it. See, the Bible doesn’t say, oh, entertain it in your life. No! It says, don’t allow it. No matter all the impure things you have done, call all of them out and tell God to cleanse your heart of filth. Only then will you live freely from evil thoughts.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to keep myself pure every day. May every area of my life reflect you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
