Build Resilience Towards Evil Times

[10] “If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.” – Proverbs 24:10 (NKJV)

You probably grew up thinking life is rosy without sorrows or evil days. But as you mature, especially after graduating from tertiary education and now taking more responsibility for your life when you start to work, you realise that life is not as easy as you thought it would be. From pressures from ministry, your secular workplace, family problems, financial constraints, you name them. Many people do battle with these things every day. That is why multiple researchers have published staggering numbers of people battling with depression.

You must build resilience towards evil times because they will come. Solomon said that if you faint (interpreted as fail or wax feeble) in the day of adversity (turbulent times), your strength is small. So, you need more inner strength than you think to withstand evil days. If you have that, you’ll be able to go through terrible issues people face without breaking down as people do. Sometimes, you’ll foresee these issues coming; other times, they happen unexpectedly. But no matter when they occur, your resilience will determine how you hold yourself through that season.

Stop thinking you will get everything on a silver platter just because you have faith or money. It is far from true. God will make you go through the process, and you must be willing to remain humble before the Lord. It is well with you.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me build resilience towards evil times when they come so I can remain faithful to your divine call. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
