Ask God to Teach You His Ways

[11] “Teach me Your way, O LORD,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.” – Psalms 27:11 (NKJV)

In David’s time, there were several wars between cities and provinces. Because of that, kings had enemies. To protect themselves from such people, they built thick walls around cities with sophisticated security systems, which worked. But there were also times when all the human security measures taken failed. David knew this, so he prayed several times that God should teach him His way and lead him on a smooth path, lest he fall into the hands of his enemies. I tell you, one of the reasons why David lived longer was because of these prayers.

The Bible says in Isaiah 55:8-9 that God’s ways are not man’s ways. They are actually higher than man’s ways. That means what God intends for you to do or follow is definitely higher than your knowledge can comprehend. That’s why you can’t stop praying. Why? Because the more you pray and fellowship with God, the more He reveals His ways to you. So, the surest method to ask God to show you His way, especially when in a dilemma, is to pray.

Don’t feel too proud to bow before God in worship. Don’t go with a preconceived mind when you go before Him, thinking He will say what you already know. If you remain unassumptive of God’s speaking, I can tell you that He will show you new things every day that will leave you stunned. God isn’t a formula to be known. He’s a mystery who chooses to reveal a part of Himself to those who fear Him. Draw near to Him daily.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for showing me Your ways. May I keep following it all the days of my life. Amen!
