Actively Follow Jesus as You Serve Him

[26] “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” – John 12:26 (NKJV)

It is one thing to be hired into a company and yet another to work following its rules and regulations. Many people who disregard workplace ethics get fired simply because of their disobedient behaviour. It is that simple; if you are going to work for them, you would have to follow their way of doing things. But I am glad to tell you that this principle many workplaces use today didn’t originate from modern-day human resource management principles. No! It has always been in scripture.

Jesus said in John 12:26 that if anyone will serve Him, that person must follow Him. Very simple. Right? But some believers in ministry don’t obey it. Jesus is saying that He is the chief director of every vision He has given you regarding service in God’s kingdom. So, because of that, you don’t just do whatever you like and term it as a service to God. No! You must keep listening to Him and do as He instructs you.

If you are a minister reading this, analyse what you have done in ministry so far. What are some of the things you have added to your organisation or work schedule that Jesus did not tell you to do? It is not everything nice and glamorous you see about ministry that you should be motivated to do. God didn’t ordain you to copy what others are doing for you to imitate, although you can learn from them. Actively follow Jesus as you serve Him.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, empower me to follow You diligently as I live to fulfil Your plan for my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
