A Righteous Reward That Shines Like the Dawn

[5] “ Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: [6] He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.” – Psalms 37:5-6 (NIV)

Women in Africa usually wake up at dawn to do house chores. In a country like Ghana, by 5:30 am, you can see the blue sky, which is good because it even helps with visibility. When a bird is flying in the sky at that time, it is easier to recognise it than when it happens around 1 am. What am I saying? Dawn light has extreme visibility. And God’s word says He will give you a righteous reward that shines like the dawn when you commit your ways to Him.

I’m sure you want God’s rewards. Right? But what does it mean to commit your way to Him? The word “commit” used in the scripture above means to roll together. So the Bible is saying that, roll every area of your life together and submit it to God. That implies you must cease living on your own ideologies and thinking patterns. Instead, submit it to the living God to guide you by His Spirit and His Word.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous. There are many problems believers in Christ face that is not fair. But God is not slack concerning His promises. You will not have an ordinary life because God has distinguished you from the masses. The problem of fretting and anxiety arises when you think you were born to fit in. Dear one, anchor your faith in the Lord of Hosts. He will vindicate you.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your provision in my life. Help me commit all my ways to You and trust that You will vindicate any unfair treatment others give me. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
