by[17] For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” – Romans 1:17 (NKJV)
Yesterday, I spoke about the gospel being the power of God that brings salvation for everyone who believes (see Romans 1:16). But Paul, the writer of the epistle to the Romans, didn’t end there. In the next verse, Romans 1:17, he continued to say that in the gospel is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith. But I have a question. What does it mean for the righteousness of God to be revealed?
If God’s righteousness is not a mystery, then there would be no need to reveal it. Right? So, the righteousness of God explained as God’s justification, is revealed from faith to faith. But in 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV), the Bible says,
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
So, because of Jesus’ atonement of sins for all humanity, each believer has become the righteousness of God. Therefore, before God, all your sins have been nailed to the cross, and you are cleansed from within. However, to see the full manifestation of your nature as God’s justified one, you need to keep hearing the gospel. But why? Because it is through the gospel that you’ll gradually get to know and understand who God has made you. And as you know yourself more, you’ll live more and more like Jesus and fulfil your divine mandate.
Dear one, you cannot reach the fullness of your destiny if you have an identity crisis about who you are in Christ. Despite all the busyness of life, always dedicate adequate time each week to connecting to God. It will help you massively.
