Christmas is, undoubtedly, one of the most exciting times of the year. It is filled with a lot of happiness and glamour in the faces of many. Homes and offices are decorated with Christmas trees, bells, and other beautiful things. Yes indeed, it’s holiday time. I like Christmas not because of the euphoria it brings but because of how Jesus is publicised across the world in this season. But, like what is happening in the world today, it is easy for people to lose sight of the reason behind the season because Christmas has been celebrated so many times. I don’t want that to happen to you. That is why I am writing this article for you to read and meditate on.
A look into why Jesus was born
Why do we sing “Joy to the World” so many times in several places worldwide during Christmas? It is because Christ was born indeed. But that news is joyful in the world because of Jesus’ mission on Earth, not because the song is lovely or sung by an amazing choir.
In the Bible, there are several scriptures that show us why Jesus was born. One of them is 1 John 3:8, where the Bible says Jesus was made manifest to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). I want to ask you a question. Is Jesus destroying the devil’s works in your life? How often do you use your divine authority to even pray against the works of demons in your life? You see, you must enforce the spiritual authority given to you in Christ before certain things will happen in your life.

Remember the reason for the season
As you celebrate Christmas, it’s expedient to remember that Jesus is the reason for this advent season, not food, winter or because of the day in the calendar. Without Jesus, there wouldn’t have been Christmas. So, once you celebrate it with Christ consciousness in mind, you’ll not be carried away by the festive activities of people but rather deepen your reverence for Jesus Christ.
Jesus can be celebrated every day
Remember that Jesus can be celebrated every day, not just on Christmas day. Therefore, don’t let your reverence for Him diminish once the Christmas season passes. That would be detrimental to your faith walk in the Lord.
Merry Christmas to you.
