You Must Sow Before You Can Reap

[7] “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” – Galatians 6:7 (NKJV)

My father used to practice gardening in our house’s backyard when I was a little boy, probably around six years old. Today, he doesn’t do it anymore. But I learned then that nobody can expect a harvest without first sowing seeds in the ground. In simple terms, you must sow before you can reap. This process can never be altered by any human.

Seeds take time to grow. When adequately cared for, they become great trees bearing multiple fruits and seeds that can be used to plant new trees of the same plant. Right! Every tree you see today is a product of a seedling sown on the ground, with or without humans directly sowing. Why? Because sometimes, winds can carry seeds over to certain places on the Earth.

Dear one, if you want something in your life, especially something costly, do not think you will get it for free. You are going to pay for it. Sometimes, the price you pay for such things may not necessarily be money, but others, like time and very hard godly sacrifice. For example, you cannot grow spiritually if you don’t pay the price to pursue a deeper intimacy with God. It’s that simple. Remember that in Christ, there is a higher calling for each believer. But only the believers who pay that price will get to the top.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy in my life. Help me to sow in the Spirit constantly as I seek to know You deeper daily. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
