[8] “Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” – 1 Corinthians 13:8 (NIV)
In a world where there is information saturation, mainly due to the constant rise in technology and the internet, many people are getting tricked into believing that what they have will never fail them. One of such things they hold onto is knowledge.
According to 1 Corinthians 13:8, it is only the love of God that never fails. The rest of the top pillars people think they won’t fail, such as prophecies, tongues-speaking, and knowledge, can’t be totally dependent on. For prophecies, they will cease. For tongues speaking, the Bible says a time will come when it’ll be stilled (or quietened). Then, for knowledge (general intelligence), it shall also pass away. Just think about this.
Walking in God’s kind of love is the only sure way of not encountering failure in life. Therefore, don’t rely on your general intelligence, prophecies or even finances. They are not all constant. In other words, they don’t last. Only Jesus is the same yesterday, and today, and forever (see Hebrews 13:8). Therefore, put your whole trust in Him and walk in His ways.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your love in my life. Empower me to always depend on what You say and teach in Your Word. Amen!
