The Kingdom of God Is Not a Matter of Talk

[20] “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.” – 1 Corinthians 4:20 (NIV)

Have you had an interaction with people who talk so much? If yes, how did you feel after the conversation? For me, it always looks as if I am in a monologue rather than a dialogue. But there is one thing I have noticed about such people. Some of them can be talkative but aren’t action-takers. Unfortunately, some believers in Christ are like this. They can talk so much, even share visions, suggestions and dreams to the hearing of many, but do nothing about all those words.

Yes, I believe there is a big gap between the conception of a vision and the fulfilment of the vision. But according to 1 Corinthians 4:20, the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. That means every believer must live conscious of talking less and demonstrating the power of God more in their lives. If people in Christ will live like this, God’s establishments will be very fast and full of surprises to onlookers rather than failures in people’s minds.

I have seen many people say things they want to do but yield nothing. See, talk is cheap. Because of that, many people don’t even count the cost involved in bringing their ideas to fruition before sharing them with others. You can conceive a beautiful vision in your mind, but that doesn’t negate the labour involved in raising that dream. Be conscious of wielding the power of God in you to do many exploits for His glory.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me power when I got saved. Guard my mouth from saying things I should keep quiet about. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
