Jesus Is God’s Current Voice

[35] And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” – Luke 9:35 (NKJV)

How often have you read the Bible and seen the Father say of Jesus “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” It’s twice. The first happened right after He was baptised, and the second occurred on the Mount of Transfiguration. If it has happened twice, then guess what? God is serious about this thing. Jesus is God’s current voice. Hebrews 1:1-2 (NKJV) confirms this. It says,

[1] “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, [2] has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”

In previous times (before Jesus came to Earth), God spoke through the prophets. But in this New Testament era, His current language is Jesus. Jesus is the Word incarnate. The Bible also says that the Holy Spirit speaks what He hears Jesus tell Him (see John 16:14). So, everything Christianity today revolves around Jesus. You cannot say you are worshipping the true God while putting Jesus aside. If you do, then you are deceived.

God is inviting you to come to Jesus today. He wants you to receive salvation and enjoy fellowship with Him. But you need to respond to His call. Don’t be so used to pursuing worldly gains that you relegate pursuing to know God intimately. That lifestyle doesn’t help over time.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your Word in my life. Help me to hear You clearly and follow Your directions in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
