Jesus Himself Is Your Peace

[14] “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,” – Ephesians 2:14 NKJV

Have you seen two people involved in a heavy fight before? I have seen this incident several times in my life, sometimes on roadsides while sitting in a car to go somewhere. In most cases, the arguments get so heated that the fighting parties exchange uncouth words and fists with each other without thinking about the effect of what they are doing to their reputation. Hmm!

The Bible says in Ephesians 2:14 that Jesus Himself is your peace. But how true is this? In that same verse, it is written that Jesus broke down the wall of partition between man and God when He died to take away the sin of the world (see John 1:29). And that was signified when the curtain that separated the Holy of Holies from the Most Holy Place got torn apart (see Matthew 27:51).

Today, if you are reading this devotional, I want to remind you that God holds nothing against you. The devil may have bombarded your mind with lots of condemnatory thoughts about what wrongs you may have done in times past. But that does not negate the truth that Jesus has created peace between you and the Father. Come to Him today, and you will find life.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me embrace and keep Your peace well, even in the face of controversies and problems. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
