[17] “And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;” — I Peter 1:17 NKJV
I love studying the first epistle of Peter. It contains nourishing messages, especially to the Christians facing tribulations in this evil world at their various places of residence. However, when it gets to verse 17, he throws a strong warning about how we are supposed to live on Earth.
He says in the ending parts of the verse that we should conduct ourselves throughout our stay on Earth in (reverent) fear (of the Lord). But before that, the Apostle showed us what to do that would lead to it. That is, to see God as an impartial judge of each man’s work.
Friend, if you see God as a watcher of how you’re living, I don’t think you’ll live a substandard or lazy life. And if you do so, He’s willing to correct you out of His love for you in order for you to reach your high calling in Him.
Be intentional about guarding the revelations that have kept you grounded in the Lord for all your time as a believer.

You have the divine enablement and provision to intentionally order your life according to the dictates of God. Why do I say this? It’s simply because of the word “conduct” in the anchor verse (1 Peter 1:17), which is more of an instructive word in the army.
As a child of God, you’re in the world by not of it. Therefore, be intentional about guarding the revelations that have kept you grounded in the Lord for all your time as a believer. Don’t trade sin for compromise because there’s grace to live in purity. Live by the standards of God no matter how many people compromise to get what they want.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, grant me the tenacity to stand firm in Your Word amidst tribulations. Help me to navigate life in divine purity. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
