Stop Blaming God’s Choices for Your Life

[21] “But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” [21] Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?” – Romans 9:20-21 (NIV)

One of the most common characteristics of people who tend not to be satisfied with almost anything in life, especially some Christians, is blaming God. Some people are just not satisfied with how fearful and wonderful God has made them. Today, it is unfortunate that people turn to social media to compare their lives to others, especially regarding follower count, body comparisons, and much more.

Let me ask you a question. When was the last time you took a critical look at yourself in the mirror? I ask this because if you do that for a while, you’ll become more appreciative of how God made you. You are not a random human being on this Earth. No! You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God (see Psalm 139:14). So, stop blaming God’s choices for your life.

Shifting focus from physical looks to other things, where comparison gets people more, like income, conditions of life, nationality and more. I’ve heard people tell me several times that they wish they hadn’t been born in Africa. Why? Because, according to them, the living conditions are too harsh. But don’t we have other people who are proud to be called “Africans” regardless of their background? There are certain choices God made for you before bringing you into the world. You didn’t choose your parents, nationality (of birth), skin colour, and other fundamental background realities. So, instead of blaming God for such choices, accept them and live to pursue the fullness of your destiny in God.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to accept the choices You have made for me. Let me be content with Your doings in my life. Amen!
