Rise Up After Suffering a Setback

[16] “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.” – Proverbs 24:16 (NKJV)

Do you think God expects us to live without flaws, even after giving us salvation? I don’t think so because He knows each human has many infirmities, which the Holy Spirit helps us overcome (see Romans 8:26). But God doesn’t expect any of us to remain down after falling. Instead, He always wants us to stay up and also rise up after suffering a setback.

In an internet-driven world, many things happen online. I’ve heard people say that the internet doesn’t forget things, and it’s true. What you type or post online, once you don’t delete it, remains there forever because of the backend-powered cloud storage used by lots of softwares. So, even if you sinned and repented to live a life worthy of the Lord, you might still get attacks from people online, and a lot of public figures experience this.

Let me tell you something. What God thinks and says about you is much more essential than what people say about you. If you made a mistake in the past, it doesn’t mean you are forever flawed. People may not forget your past, but if God has forgiven you, forgive yourself and move on. Remember that despite the setbacks you face, don’t give up on what God has called you to do.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me the grace to stand up after all the setbacks I have experienced. I pray for the grace to keep moving on. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
