Do You Put Jesus’ Words to Practice?

[24] “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: [25] and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” – Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV)

During Jesus’ earthly ministry, there wasn’t a physical Bible everywhere like we have today. There were only scrolls in the synagogue. So, people found it hard to hear the words of the Lord if they didn’t attend services in the synagogue. Even though God’s Word was scarce, some people were careful to put whatever they heard into practice, while others didn’t.

Today, things are different. Never has the Bible been in print as much as it is today. Yet, people don’t read it. There are several Bible apps all over, but people still don’t read or even apportion just five to thirty minutes within a week to study it. Oh mercy! I want to ask you a simple question. Do you put Jesus’ words to practice?

Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-25 that anybody who hears His words and does them is likened unto a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. What’s the rock? Christ.

From this, Jesus says storms and issues in life will come to attack the Word of God you have heard. But if you have used it to build your life, you will survive. Don’t put God’s Word aside when issues come into your life. No! Keep believing it because it will help you throughout the changing phases of this life.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for all the care in my life. Help me to hold fast to Your Word of prophecy in my life, no matter the issues. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
