Prayer Is a Necessity for You as God’s Child

[5] “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.” – Matthew 6:5 (NKJV)

In yesterday’s devotional, I spoke about the necessity of being generous to the needy. But today, I want to tell you another thing that is very crucial to do as God’s child. It is prayer. Prayer is a necessity, whether there are storms in your life or not.

In my nine years of walking with God (as of this writing), I have observed something about some believers, especially in universities (in Africa). They may build a solid relationship with God while on campus. But after graduation and getting into the job market, many of them fail to maintain the fire because the pressures of life get them way too distracted. Dear one, God doesn’t want your life to be like that.

You must pray regardless of whatever is happening in your life. As you grow, you’ll get busier, and if you don’t take care, you’ll be tempted to drop down your prayer and time with God so low on your priority list. Step up and be serious because God is still interested in You knowing Him more, regardless of your age. May the Lord help you.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me the gift of prayer. Help me to make prayer and time with you a daily necessity. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
