A Worthy Sacrifice for the Minister of God

[29] So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, [30] who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.” – Mark 10:29-30 (NKJV)

Salvation is and will always be free, but exploits in God’s kingdom will always be expensive. You cannot ascend to a higher realm of living in Christ and doing mighty things for God without sacrifice. If you aspire to be in ministry, I can assure you that there is so much to lose if you want to know God intimately and command a higher level of impact on your generation.

Jesus said in Mark 10:29 that those who follow Him can lose houses, lands, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, even wives and children. But in their loss, they shall also receive a hundredfold of everything they lost but with persecutions on this Earth and also in heaven. That means following Jesus can complicate your life more than a worldly person. But the reward for following Him outweighs the disadvantages, and one of the primary benefits is the reward in heaven reserved for you based on your kingdom exploits.

When you view this Earth as a passer-by and that what you do here will determine how you are going to spend eternity, it will be easier to make a worthy sacrifice of losing earthly things to gain God’s supernatural provisions. If you are in a season where your resources are constantly going down because of your commitment to the Lord, remember that there is an assurance that God will replenish everything you have lost.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, in Jesus’s name, help me follow You ardently. Let me not give up on You despite whatever I have lost to keep Your work progressing. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
