by[17] “For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the LORD upholds the righteous.” – Psalms 37:17 (NKJV)
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all (see Psalm 34:19). That verse means that so many problems that staunch believers in Christ face are abnormal. Some of them are cooked from the pit of hell, just targeted towards those who believe in Christ.
One time, I was listening to a preacher who said something about his experience when he went to minister to prison inmates a long time ago. One devout Muslim believed in the gospel, and because the Muslim community in the prison couldn’t afford this man to leave their religion, they poisoned his food three times. To their surprise, the new convert didn’t die. To the glory of God, he’s a Baptist pastor today. But for God to deliver him from the poisonous food he ate, those who poisoned him got convinced about Christ and got saved.
The Lord upholds the righteous despite the atrocities he faces in his life. I believe in Christ, and I can say that with the rise of wickedness in this world, it is much harder to live fully committed to the Lord Jesus these days. People with corrupted mindsets tend to be many in several areas of life, and the believers there are battling with what kind of people they are living and working with.
Child of God, let it be known in your consciousness that God won’t watch you to be disgraced. He will take vengeance on anything and any person who used wicked means to make your life difficult. Just focus on Him. He is with You.
