[19] “speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,” – Ephesians 5:19 (NIV)
Music is so powerful. But unfortunately, many people don’t see it that way. Some people are bent on listening to secular music, including some believers in Christ, and are unaware that it’ll carry them to the realm from which the music was composed. Have you realised you can enjoy God’s presence when you tune in to a Christian song loaded with sound doctrine? Yes! That is how powerful it is.
Although not musical, Paul never forgot to tell us that we should speak to one another with psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit. In those days, there was no Spotify, Apple Music, or music streaming platform to get songs. There weren’t even phones or advanced instruments like we have today. All that they had was their voices and a few instruments. But they managed to treasure the songs of the Spirit in their hearts. Today, you have a better life.
Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord. Let the melody from your heart reach the heavens, so much so that even when you wake up, it’ll be ringing in your heart. Practise the presence of God.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your love and care in my life. Fill my heart with sound musical content from the Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
