What Is the Significance of Christ’s Resurrection to the Christian?

Excerpt

If I may ask, when was the last time you made enough time to study the importance of Jesus' death and resurrection? Is it just a doctrine to you, or more than that? Today. I am glad to walk you through this theme.

Easter is one of the festive seasons in Christianity, during which preachers and believers in Christ reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus the most. For a long time, this routine has ended up raising believers who haven’t reflected so much on the significance of Christ’s resurrection to their lives. If I may ask, when was the last time you made enough time to study the importance of Jesus’ death and resurrection? Is it just a doctrine to you, or more than that? Today. I am glad to walk you through this theme. I hope you enjoy the article.

The bedrock of our faith

Do you know what it means for something to be regarded as a bedrock? That thing is seen as a solid foundation on which everything is built. Christianity’s bedrock is Christ’s resurrection. Take it away, and everything we do as believers will be in vain. In 1 Corinthians 15:17-19 (KJV), Paul explained this carefully. He said,

[17] "And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. [18] Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. [19] If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable."

Can you read that verse carefully again? Just taking away the doctrine of Christ’s resurrection has ripple effects on your belief system as a child of God. Anybody who tries to push this false doctrine in your mind is telling you that your faith in Christ is in vain; those who are dead in Christ have also perished (which also means Jesus lied about heaven) and also denies you of your hope in God. Think about all these! Don’t allow anybody to make you believe that Christ did not resurrect from the dead. If you hear someone preaching about it, especially an unbeliever (including those from other religions), pay no attention to the person. If it’s physical, leave that place, and if that channel is online, unfollow that account. I am more particular about online accounts because nowadays, some Christians may belong to a good church but still listen to false doctrines and preachers online, affecting the sound doctrine received in church. Hmm.

Did you also know that without belief in Christ’s resurrection, a person will not receive salvation? It’s right there in Romans 10:9 (KJV), which says,

[9] "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

See that! You must both confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead before you will be saved. Are you a preacher reading this? When you lead someone to accept Christ, please stress that he firmly believes in Christ’s resurrection. It is essential.

Have hope in God

Now that you know the significance of Christ’s resurrection, what next? Have hope in God. Your life is not pitiful because Christ resurrected from the dead, meaning that (1) there is no dead thing in your life God cannot bring back to life, and (2) there’s a place for you in heaven if you die today as God’s child. Rejoice, because Jesus has got you covered.

You are a blessing.
