Living with a More Than a Conqueror Mentality

Excerpt

Do you know that nothing really affects you unless you give your mind to it? People face issues every day. But the primary reason why some people come out victoriously in each challenge is because of their mindset. Once the devil gets your mind, he can mess up your life badly, and you must be on your guard against him.

Romans 8:37 (NKJV) says,

[37] “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

The verse above is, by far, one of the most popular scriptures people usually use when they speak or preach about how strong God has made them to go through life with all the atrocities that come with it. Of a truth, life is not that easy, maybe except for those who are rich and have no problems. However, considering the challenges faced by many people in their lives, it’s clear that life is not easy for them. However, for you as a believer in Christ, you must be accustomed to living with a more than a conqueror mentality. But how do you do that? Well, that’s the purpose of this article. To edify and teach you how to live as a victor and not a victim in Christ.

Troubles will come

Before Paul wrote that we are more than conquerors in Christ, he recounted his struggles. He said in Romans 8:35-36 (NIV) that,

[35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? [36] As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

Just look at that. All the things Paul listed there were things he personally faced. Think about a whole man of God like Paul facing tribulation, distress, persecution, famine (hunger), nakedness (lack of adequate clothing), peril (serious and immediate danger) and other life-threatening situations. He was stoned several times for preaching the gospel, yet didn’t die. Paul didn’t have a smooth walk with the Lord. In the same way, for every believer in Christ, it is erroneous to think that just because you’ve believed in Jesus and have been saved, it means you’re excluded from life’s atrocities. No! It’s not like that and will never be. Jesus said in John 16:33 that once we are in this world, we shall encounter tribulation. But that’s not the end.

God knows that when your mind is filled with His Word, no situation can overpower His peace in your mind.

Be strong in your mind.

Do you know that nothing really affects you unless you give your mind to it? People face issues every day. But the primary reason why some people come out victoriously in each challenge is because of their mindset. Once the devil gets your mind, he can mess up your life badly, and you must be on your guard against him.

One reason why God encourages you to be more attentive to His Word is that He wants your mind to be renewed with it. He knows that when your mind is filled with God’s Word, no situation can overpower His peace in your mind. From today, be strong in your mind about what God says about you. Things will come to challenge your faith, but don’t give up.

Don’t give up on God.

God will always be with you, no matter the challenges in life. He has promised never to leave or forsake you (see Hebrews 13:5). So, don’t let your faith be in limbo when you face challenges, some unprepared. It is well with you on every side.

You’re a blessing.
