“But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” - Matthew 13:8 NKJV
When there’s the preaching of God’s Word, many things happen in the hearts of those who receive the ministration.
As Jesus explained the parable of the sower, He said that the fruitfulness level of people who hear and understand God’s Word would always be different. Why? — Because the state of people’s hearts varies from person to person.
Jesus continued to say that some people would bear a hundredfold, some sixty and some thirty times the seed (Word) sown. That means that even if a person understands God’s Word preached, much more effort is needed to put this Word to practice in order to be fruitful with it.
There is variation in how much people take God’s Word seriously. Due to this, there’ll always be different levels of fruition amongst Christians.
Remain In Christ
In John 15:4 (NIV), Jesus said to His disciples (now, to all believers) that
Remain in me, as I also in you. No branch can bear fruit unless you remain in me.
John 15:4 (NIV)
You’ll only bear fruit with the Word of God when you remain in Christ. Now that is possible when you allow His Word to remain (affect every area) in your life (John 15:7.)
God isn’t only interested in making you hear His Word. He also wants you to sustain His Word in your life. In James 1:22 (NKJV), it’s written that
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
James 1:22 (NKJV)
It takes effort to internalise and apply God’s Word. How fast you’ll grow spiritually heavily depends on your level of submission to the Holy Spirit and the word of God.
It’s doesn’t matter how many things God has in store for your life; you need to submit to His Word to receive them step by step according to His timing.
Fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Don’t lessen your daily time with God. Instead, increase it gradually as your relationship with Him thrives.
