One time, our ministry leadership decided to gather a few Bible questions from people, both within our team and our online followers, that they struggled to understand. Then, one of us submitted this question, “If the creation happened way before Moses was born, how was he able to write the book of Genesis?” Hmm! Quite interesting. But today, there is an answer waiting for you in this article. Read on to get more insight.
The revelatory gift of Moses
Even though Exodus was the time Moses was born, Genesis looks like a mysterious book for Moses to bear its authorship. It’s like writing a book about history while you were not physically there. Will people even believe you? Of course not. Right? But 2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV) says,
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,”
My emphasis is on the first sentence, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God …”. From this, everything Moses wrote in Genesis was not from his own mind. Instead, God inspired him to see all the revelations so that he could capture them in writing. Does God make mistakes? Of course not. So, what Moses captured from the Lord to write Genesis is absolutely accurate, with no errors or defaults. Now, do you believe it?
Moses was God’s friend.
Moses was a prophet who could talk to God face to face (see Deuteronomy 34:10). How can you doubt that what he wrote throughout Genesis could be wrong? No. It is not possible that the scripture has any error. Anybody who thinks or says the Bible has contradictions should contact the Holy Ghost, who inspired all the different authors of the books in the Bible to write, for explanation. The Bible is a closed book. Meaning without revelation by the Holy Spirit, you’ll not understand it. So study it well.

God can reveal hidden things to you also.
In Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV), God said,
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'”
When you pursue a deeper intimacy with God, He will show you great and mighty things you don’t know. That will make you different from the rest of the people. Moses was a man like you. You can do greater things than he did because Jesus has given you that capacity (see John 14:12). So, be empowered to do more for God’s glory.
