[2] “Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” – Psalms 62:2 (NIV)
Do you know what a fortress is? It simply means a fortified defensive structure usually found around seashores. Because of its nature, several people used to flee into it when their enemies attacked them in the days of old when there used to be wars. So, David, having a vivid understanding of how this works, said God is his fortress and salvation. He had absolute trust in God that He would protect him from all harm to the extent that he wouldn’t be moved by any danger that came up.
Beloved, God is your fortress. So, as long as you are here on this Earth and walk according to His ways, there shouldn’t be a day your life has to be threatened by the danger of what is going to happen to you. As a matter of fact, let me tell you that in Christ, your eternal security is assured. Several nations spend billions of dollars on national security, yet crimes still happen. But with God, you are hundred percent safe in His hands.
What are you afraid of in this life? Can you come to Jesus today for your salvation? Don’t hesitate to take advantage of this opportunity to secure your place in heaven and to make God translate you from the power of darkness into His marvellous light. Accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your protection in my life. Help me always to be conscious of following Your ways no matter where I go. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
