If anyone rejects God’s servant, he rejects Jesus’ bride. In the same way, if you fail to honour your pastor’s wife, you’re disobeying God’s law of marriage because, according to Jesus, the two shall become one.
Just as you expect the company you work for to pay you at the end of each month, honour your pastor willingly from your pocket. He is your teacher and instructor in God’s house.
Enough of self-consumption. Learn both to receive God’s love and give to others also. Esteem others better than you. In that way, you’ll value them and focus less on their weaknesses.
God is so mindful of you. What makes you think God has abandoned you? If He gave up Jesus for you, what shows He can’t satisfy that need of yours?
Let’s stop being sarcastic to just anybody we meet. Remember that all men are not the same, even though people can appear with no special distinguishing features. May God give you understanding to see people through His lens, lest you despise the great but ordinary in appearance.
For older men in the church, when they do wrong things, it’s inappropriate to rebuke them publicly. Instead, you must call them aside and speak nicely to them about what they did and its effects so that they’ll not do it again. Using that correction method will make them listen because they’ll see you honour and respect them.
The Israelites in Nazareth didn’t know Jesus could have performed more miracles than He did when the despised Him. Dishonour makes you lose precious gifts you could have received. Sometimes, you’ll not know it. Learn to view people as how God sees them, not how they appear before you.
Of a truth, your parents may not know God more than you. But they certainly have more life experiences than you. So your spiritual understanding may be higher than theirs, but their comprehension of life is broader than yours. Honour them and pray for them because, after all, they’ve been faithful to take care of you.
Don’t wait for someone to die before offering your best help to the person. No matter how much you value people, they’ll not recognise anything you do for them or their family when they are gone. Letting this consciousness be in you is very powerful for God to use to root out selfishness from your life.
If everyone in Christ would choose to honour one another above ourselves, we won’t have issues praying against pride in our hearts.
Don’t let the negatives of media reports about finances push you back on honoring the Lord with your wealth. God is wiser, more ancient than any worldly system now. His systems still work to this day. Believe in His Word, and live by it. You’ll never be disadvantaged. Mind the Father’s business when budgeting.
